Our team are highly trained in many areas and are happy to look after your general health and more specific requirements. We are dedicated to listening to you, discussing your physical and mental concerns in an honest and open fashion. We will provide you with up to date, evidence-based medical advice to make informed choices when it comes to managing your health.
The practice is a training practice for undergraduate medical students attached to University College Cork. Doctors in training are given the opportunity to spend time in General Practice and to add to their skills and knowlege. We will always ask for your permission for a student to sit in on your consultation.
Dr. Aideen Phelan

Dr Aideen Phelan is a graduate of UCC and the Cork GP training scheme. She has extensive experience in Family practice, having worked in the UK in Churchill Medical Centre ( Kingston and Richmond health Authority) , In Clady Medical centre for many years before moving to Haven Medical Practice . She has an interest in children’s and women’s health , dermatology , sports medicine and diabetes. She has a special interest in reproductive health , menopause , and crisis pregnancy management. Dr Phelan takes referral from MyOptions.
Dr Phelan also performs minor surgical procedures , joint injections and is an undergraduate teacher in UCC school of medicine.
Dr. Patricia McMahon

Dr. Patricia McMahon studied in UCC and spent several years working in paediatrics and other specialties in Dublin and Limerick before returning to Cork to train as a GP. She qualified from the Cork GP Training scheme in 2014. She has been in practice in Bishopstown since 2020. She has a particular interest in women’s health and children’s health.
Dr. Orla Crowley

Dr Orla Crowley is a graduate of UCC in 2011. She completed the SouthWest GP Training Scheme in 2017 and has worked as a GP in Cork and Kerry.
Dr. Marie Hellen

Dr.Hellen qualified from UCD in 2007. She is a graduate of the Cork GP Training Scheme. She has extensive experience working in Ireland and abroad and has recently returned from 5 years working in Canada.
Dr. Ian Cafferky
Dr Ian Cafferky MB Bch BAO, MICGP, CCFP, MRCPI
Dr Cafferky graduated from UCD in 2006. He completed basic medical training attached to the Mater Hospital Dublin before completing General Practice training in Sligo. Since finishing his GP training Dr Cafferky has spent a number of years working in palliative care in Ireland and family practice in Canada. He is available for minor surgery procedures (e.g. skin lesion excision) and joint injection treatments. Dr Cafferky also has a strong interest in men’s health.
He is a member of the Irish and Canadian College of General Practitioners as well as the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland.
